Speaking Agreement
MARY CLEMENT DOUGLASS, dba/HISTORICAL MATTERS
On this day_______________the________________________________________________________, (hereinafter called the Host) and Mary Douglass (hereinafter called the Speaker) do agree that the Speaker will present a lecture or lectures at the Host's event to be held on __________________, at _______________________________________________. The following terms shall apply.
Content of the Program: The Speaker will provide a 50-minute presentation with appropriate audio-visual and print enhancements on each of the following selected titles:

Facilities: The Host shall be responsible for preparing the meeting site.
Equipment: The Society agrees to supply the equipment listed below, set up in working order.
Lectern or table, Microphone, Screen or light-colored blank wall
Recording: Presentations are copyrighted and are not to be, taped, duplicated, transcribed, or otherwise disseminated, unless prior arrangements are made by the Host with the Speaker.
Publicity: The Speaker agrees to provide the Host with a professional and personal biography, a photograph (if requested), and a brief description of each of her topics. [Available on the Speaker's web site.]
Lecture Fees: The Host agrees to pay the Speaker an honorarium of $200.00 for each 50-minute lecture.
Travel Expenses: The Host agrees to pay for Speaker’s out
of-pocket travel expenses by the method selected herein:
(1) The Host agrees to furnish airline tickets for
round-trip travel by air (coach class, advance purchase
with Saturday stay), plus transportation to/from airport
or, (2) Speaker may opt to drive her personal vehicle
to be reimbursed at the rate allowable by the IRS (currently
50.5 cents per mile).
Personal Accommodations: The Host agrees to provide the Speaker with motel/hotel non-smoking accommodations on the ground floor or elevator in building and reimbursement for meals, enroute and on-site..
Cancellation Clause: This agreement may be canceled if (1) a natural or public disaster should render the program unfeasible; or (2) serious illness or family death should incapacitate the speaker. If a natural or public disaster requires cancellation, the Host shall not be responsible for the Speaker’s fee but should reimburse the Speaker for any sums already expended for non-refundable airfare. In the event that the Speaker should be unable to fulfill her obligations, she will not expect reimbursement from the Host for any advance sums already expended.
